Today any company of any size can compete with any other company. The cloud, and therefore state-of-the-art technologies in almost any scalability and with high performance, is open to every company at consumption-oriented prices. This is part of the democratization of IT. Another is that not only IT departments and CIOs decide which IT is used in the company, but increasingly also representatives from the departments. This also means that IT decisions are distributed more widely than before.
