How to Use Data and AI to Become World Champion Again

The DFB and his regional associations manage up to 80.000 football games every weekend. These games are an incredible source of data and the DFB is willing to use all this data to become the world champion again. One of the most important projects is THE “Database of german football” so you have a single and integrated point of truth. Frank Biendara, Managing Director for IT & Digital will share insides about this data platform and other digital projects within the german football at the new DFB Campus, Kennedyallee 274 in Frankfurt.
The question of “whether” data is used in German and international soccer is no longer an issue. The question is rather “how” the data is used and “which” data is used. This sounds simple, but a myriad of data sources also requires data integration. This also requires a sophisticated data strategy and appropriate technological support and architectures. To store, consolidate and integrate the data, the DFB is developing the “Database of German Football.” This analytical database will then serve as the basis for talent development both in top-level soccer at the German national teams – and in amateur soccer at the 25.000 clubs in Germany.
