| The question of “whether” data is used in German and international soccer is no longer an issue. The question is rather “how” the data is used and “which” data is used. This sounds simple, but a myriad of data sources also requires data integration. This also requires a sophisticated data strategy and appropriate technological support and architectures. To store, consolidate and integrate the data, the DFB is developing the “Database of German Football.” This analytical database will then serve as the basis for talent development both in top-level soccer at the German national teams – and in amateur soccer at the 25.000 clubs in Germany. |
