The Board of Directors of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) approved (Feb. 9, 17) the appointment of Uri Shavit as Senior VP, CIO and Head of Information Technology & Operations Department.

In his most recent position, Uri Shavit has served as project manager for the merger of Arab Israel Bank into Bank Leumi.  In the performance of this role, he handled all matters relating to information systems and working processes, including all aspects of banking activity, regulation and accounting.

Previously, Shavit served for 8 years as CEO of Leumi Capital Market Services, a company specializing in the provision of back office services in capital market domains.  In this capacity, he supervised the operation of provident funds, mutual funds, hedge funds and pension counseling services.  As CEO, Shavit managed 150 employees.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Ltd. was founded in September 1953. The TASE group, which consists of the stock exchange, the Nominee Company, the TASE Clearing House and the Derivatives Clearing House, provides local and international investors with trading and clearing in securities, including stocks, corporate bonds, government bonds, index-tracking products and derivatives. The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange is home to over 455 listed companies, with a total market value of approximately USD 230 billion, 664 corporate bonds and 695 ETFs.

Mr. Shavit holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science and master's degree in Public Administration from the Tel Aviv University and graduated Chief Information Officer's course at the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology).
