It is clear that emissions are generated during our CIOmove trips. However, it is important to us to communicate about this transparently and to compensate for the emissions by supporting good projects. We also put a lot of time and effort into planning and organizing CIOmove in a more environmentally friendly way every year.
After CIOmove 2023 in Portugal, we recorded all associated emissions using the ClimatePartner platform. This allowed us to accurately calculate the total emissions resulting from the event: 161,80 t CO₂.
We then made a compensation payment of around EUR 5,000 to ClimatePartner and selected a project to be supported with the money. Here you can find out which project was supported: Forest Protection Cujubim Brazil. Further information about the project can be found here.
