"One of 2015 CIOmove's highlights was the scenic view on the train ride throughout Switzerland, Schindler's home country. I am afraid that the view on the 2016 ciomove ride in the Eurotunnel will not be as spectactular 😉 But spending time with major industry thought leaders will certainly compensate for this."

Founded in Switzerland in 1874, the Schindler Group is a leading global provider of elevators, escalators and related services. Its innovative and environmentally-friendly access and transit-management systems make an important contribution to mobility in urban societies.

Mr. Michael Nilles was appointed as Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) of Henkel on October 1, 2019. Michael, who joined CIOmove 2015 as a host in Switzerland,  will be responsible for the combined activities in Integrated Business Solutions (IBS) and digital technologies.

Before, Michel was Member of the Group Executive Committee and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) for Schindler as well as the CEO of Schindler Digital Business. Michael was responsible globally for Digital Business, Business Process Management and Information Technology.

Prior to joining Schindler, Michael was leading the different phases of digitization at Mannesmann and Bosch Rexroth AG, where he held positions as Group CIO, CIO Americas, Program Director Global SAP and IT Director Greater China. Michael started his career as SAP consultant for Supply Chain Management in the Asian Pacific region. During his international assignments he was living and working 5 years in China and 5 years in the USA.

Michael earned a master’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from the University of Cologne/Germany. His and his team’s work was recognized in 2015 with the MIT Sloan CIO Leadership Award, the Digital Business Innovation Award and awarded CIO of the Year.
